It’s Earl here and today i’m going to teach you all how to set up your Facebook Ad Account!

This is for all the people that ALREADY have a business manager account. If you DON’T have a Facebook Business manager then please set one up by doing the below! (For everyone that has a business account please skip down to the next heading – AD ACCOUNT!)

Business manager –

Business Manager is free to use.

Business Manager is a tool designed for managing your Facebook Pages and ad accounts.

To start, first make sure that you have a personal Facebook account to confirm your identity.

Next, sign up for Business Manager:

Note: If you don’t yet have a Page for your business, create one.

  1. Go to business.facebook.com.
  2. Click Create account.
  3. Enter a name for your business, select the primary Page and enter your name and work email.
  4. Move through the rest of the on-boarding flow by filling in the rest of the required fields.

Ads manager –

Before we kick off your first Ad campaign we have to set up your payment methods.
This allows for your Ads to run!
Once you set up your ad account, you won’t have to do this again until you need to change the payment method or create a new ad account.

Let’s navigate to our ad account settings and set this up!

Go to you business manager and from there, click on the 3 lines in the top left and navigate to “Ad Accounts” located under “Accounts”. Fill in all the blanks by entering your company’s name, address, and other relevant information.

Now we have to add your payment method so we can move forward with creating our first Facebook Ads!
Click on your ad account settings -> Payment Settings. From here, we can insert preferred payment method.

How and when are you billed?

You can expect a bill from Facebook on two different occasions:

  • When you reach your billing threshold (this is if you use direct debit to pay for Facebook ads)
  • At the end of each month

The billing threshold means that your primary payment method will be charged every time you reach a certain billing threshold. The sum of the threshold varies based on your billing history.

This threshold will be pretty low when you first start advertising (usually $25), and you’ll be billed every time you spend $25 in Facebook Ads. As you keep spending and your payments are correctly processed, your threshold will be automatically increased to $50, $250, $500, and finally, $750.
